RTM Engineering Consultants CEO Tony Mirchandani was featured in a recent Zweig article, “Challenges CEOs face around the world” about the many hurdles leaders face in an ever-changing business climate.
The article highlighted some tips for managing change within an organization and Mirchandani offered his insights about how RTM promotes cultural synergies through the development of personal relationships among team members by having them travel to and spend some time at the different RTM office locations.
Mirchandani told Zweig, “We originally were more concerned with cultural integration and joint management due to the distance, but quickly discovered that the internal culture and behavior of the Orlando office closely aligned with the culture of RTM’s other offices.” Mirchandani also shared that RTM principals from different offices get together at offsite retreats to share and brainstorm ideas that continue to build upon the integration process.
By enforcing joint task forces at the different locations, RTM employees are able to tackle unique and challenging projects by utilizing their varied skillsets that complement one another. The team at RTM quickly recognized the importance of communication as it relates to the success of acquisition and integration.
Mirchandani advises that you must remove uncertainty by providing information about matters like operating methods, the design process, and the changes and benefits associated with the acquisition.
