Waukesha Memorial Hospital – 2 North, Heart and Vascular Renovations in Waukesha, WI
RTM Engineering Consultants is working with ProHealth Care and Eppstein Uhen Architects on a project for the Waukesha Memorial Hospital. RTM will be providing electrical engineering services for the renovation of 23,600 square feet of existing space within the hospital’s first and second floors, a 13,200-square-foot addition, and renovation of the existing main entry. The new space will support heart care, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular diagnostics, administration and a welcome center.
The RTM team will utilize Revit, Navisworks, and visual lighting software to design the lighting, controls, and power—including relocation of the existing stairway panels, systems, and low voltage systems—for the project. RTM will integrate progressive design techniques, such as LED lighting, a color-coded conduit system and campus power management system, and sustainable methods, including LED lighting, reduced lighting power density, and automatic lighting controls.
A challenging component of the project includes not disrupting the operations of the hospital. To avoid issues, RTM will meet with staff on a regular basis to understand how each phase of construction will affect operations and the patients to allow for proactive plans to be put in place to eliminate any disruption to hospital operations or reduction in patient satisfaction.
The project is estimated to be completed in July 2017.
