RTM Engineering Consultants performed all MEP design services from schematic design through construction for the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center located in Gainesville, Fla.
The project involved interior renovations of approximately 5,000 square feet of healthcare/medical exam space to make room for MRI equipment and PET-CT scan equipment.
Electrical infrastructure upgrades were required to accommodate the new medical equipment. A new electrical room was added and the main electrical panel was connected to the facility emergency electrical service with a new 800A breaker.
The HVAC systems were modified for the new space plan by connecting new dual duct terminal boxes to the existing main supply and return duct system. In addition, plumbing was also modified to accommodate the renovation and included connecting new sinks to existing sanitary and water lines within the building.
