Each summer, RTM hosts undergrad and graduate-level interns to provide young men and women with hands-on engineering experience to help them be better prepared for entering the job force. This summer, RTM is hosting numerous interns in the Chicago, Davenport and Milwaukee offices. Read below to meet a few of the budding engineers.
Carter is a senior at Iowa State University studying mechanical engineering. He grew up on a farm in Northwest Iowa where he learned a lot about the farming industry. Carter is excited to learn about the HVAC industry at RTM and knows this internship experience will be very beneficial later in life.
Fernando is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has lived in Florida since he was 12 years old, and for the past three years, has lived in Chicago studying at Illinois Tech. One of his hobbies is working on electronic projects and he recently challenged himself by building a mechanical keyboard from scratch with the help of an online community.
Miya is a sophomore Architectural Engineering student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). Growing up in a rural area just outside of Milwaukee, she has found that city life is very different. She is currently working on HVAC and plumbing layouts and is very excited to gain industry experience so early in her career. With this internship, she hopes to gain a better understanding of the industry and then focus on specialty mechanical systems.
