Established in 1981, RTM Engineering Consultants, LLC, is a 120-person MEP/FP and civil engineering consulting firm. Position Overview: Applies mechanical systems design knowledge, skill and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process.

Reports to: Studio Chair / PIC

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately and timely produces Mechanical Systems design elements consistent with project specifications
  • Accurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parameters
  • Provides research design options consistent with project requirements
  • Assists in the selection of appropriate equipment for project type
  • Produces accurate and complete load calculations within project parameters
  • Assists in the preparation of other documents germane to a project with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Actively participates in post design activities through to construction completion.
  • Follows established work rules, policies and procedures
  • Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned

Non-essential Job Functions

  • Other general office processes and procedures and project activities

Requirements

  • Knowledge of engineering drafting standards
  • Knowledge of various HVAC systems, equipment and concepts
  • A 4 year degree in engineering required & credentials to take the EIT and/or PE Exam(s)
  • Knowledge of AutoCad LT and or Revit
  • Good communication skills

Position Overview: Applies mechanical systems design knowledge, skill and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process. Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides Project Management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process

Reports to: Studio Chair / PIC

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Provides complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client/customer, accurately & timely
  • In accordance with company standards, provides assistance in the preparation of accurate and complete proposals and engineering agreements
  • Accurately and timely produces mechanical systems design elements consistent with project specifications
  • Accurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parameters
  • Provides research design options consistent with project requirements
  • Selects appropriate equipment for project type
  • Creates construction HVAC documents for permitting that are accurate and complete
  • Produces accurate and complete load calculations and engineering project specifications within project parameters
  • Accurately and consistently execute QA/QC process
  • Provide project coordination with in house and outside sources
  • Provides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes and standards consistent with company quality standards
  • Actively participates in post design consultation activities and represents the company in client meetings through construction completion
  • Responsible for on-boarding and overseeing junior engineers
  • Actively mentors junior engineers and designers
  • Provide timely billing of projects to accounting department
  • Follows established work rules, policies and procedures
  • Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • A 4 year degree in Engineering required, EIT and/or PE preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Knowledge of various HVAC/plumbing/fire protection systems, equipment and concepts
  • Knowledge of Engineering drafting standards
  • Knowledge and utilization of company & design standards
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Demonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and/or Revit
  • Good communication skills

Position Overview: This individual will be responsible for engineering related work involving the RTM Sustainability Studio. This work includes Energy Modelling using e-Quest and other software, LEED & Green Globes Administration, LEED & Green Globes related consulting, commissioning, tax rebate and utility incentive programs, ASHRAE BEQ program consulting, and Energy Star program consulting. Furthermore, this individual will be dedicating 25% of their time in the marketing, development, and enhancement of this RTM Studio.
This individual can work from any of the RTM Offices and will be working directly with other Sustainability Studio engineers in other offices throughout the US.

 

Qualifications:

  • BSME or BSEE
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in sustainability engineering related to building construction
  • Registered PE is desired along with NCEES record
  • ACG certified CxA
  • LEED AP certification
  • Great communication and social skills
  • Excellent time management and team building skills
  • Completed at least two (2) projects as a LEED Administration
  • Completed at least two (2) projects with comprehensive commissioning
